Redeeming The Mind: A Christian Mental Health Blog

About Nolan Vander Ploeg

Redeeming The Mind: A Christian Mental Health Blog is a space to explore the intersection of faith and mental health. By examining the wondrous complexities of our humanity, this blog is a space that promotes holistic care of the heart, mind, and soul. Redeeming the Mind hopes to help believers better understand themselves so that they can better understand Christ and invite Him into the broken parts of their story.

After serving three years on staff with Jesus Film Project, where I was privileged to minister in a variety of different countries and cultures, I attended Reformed Theological Seminary (Orlando) where I received a Master’s of Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I hope to promote deep and engaging thoughts while encouraging the study of theology, psychology, anthropology, and philosophy, all with the intent of caring more effectively for those that are hurting and confused by their current experience with Christianity. Currently, I am practicing at a mental health clinic in Northern Wisconsin where I reside with my wife and two boys.

“Our wisdom, in so far as it ought to be deemed true and solid wisdom, consists almost entirely of two parts: the knowledge of God and of ourselves.”
